The more we get together, the happier we'll be...

...Because your friends are my friends, and my friends are your friends

I adore these super sweet friendship bracelets from Links of London. I worked for the brand yesterday and wore some of their fabulous couture pieces. These bracelets really stood out for me... like friends the more you have, the better they are! They look fabulous with a whole armload in contrasting shades.

The new ones they have come out with are even more fabulous. Cat Deeley worked with the brand to pick out some of the new colours. They also have a fabulous new style with little silver skulls all linked together with string. However, since these styles were just premiered yesterday I don't have any photos of them. I would have taken some snaps yesterday if it wasn't considered unprofessional to walk around acting like a model and photographer at the same time!

The bracelets remind me of coming back from summer break as a kid. This was always my favourite time of year... The kids in my city would always come back with loads of friendship bracelets from camps and fabulous summers spent in the sun having fun. These bracelets make me nostalgic and happy at the same time! Definitely a piece to consider investing in!

Lots of love,

Died and Gone to Heaven

Died and Gone to Heaven.... that's how I felt when I walked into Topshop for the first time today. I went after my castings to poke my head in and ended up spending more than two hours in there. That place is huuuuuuuge! I went to the one on Oxford Street... it has an entire floor devoted to jewelry, bags and accessories, another for shoes, 2 for clothes and one for men. Amazing! Above are the two items I purchased today. The pants are green harem pants that are super comfy and slimming. I'll have to post a pic wearing the pants as that photo does them no justice.

Sorry I haven't been answering comments for a few days... what with leaving, flying and now getting settled, things have been rather hectic. Also, my laptop has been misbehaving - shutting down, freezing or overheating every twenty minutes or so :( I should have bought a new one before flying over. Anyways, I will try to reply to each and every comment tonight as they all mean so much to me.

So far I'm loving London - gorgeous city! It reminds me of Paris but with more diverse architecture and much, much more greenery. I can't wait to spend this upcoming weekend relaxing in Hyde Park. Once I get through another two very busy days of castings.

Anyways, thank you all so much for your lovely comments and now that I'm settled I will try to be a better blogger and follower!

With love,
K.xx

Sell My Soul

Dear readers,
I have a confession to make: I would sell my soul for shoes.

I need new summer shoes... in case you guys haven't noticed I've been focusing on the same brown Dolce Vita pair in many posts. I just don't have many nice summer shoes... Boots? I got plenty! But summer shoes I am sorely lacking.

Today, whilst browsing about Aldo, I fell in love with two styles, featured below:

However, I'm wondering whether I should just save my money (not to mention avoid adding excess weight to my luggage) by simply waiting to indulge in some London shopping. For example here some of my new Topshop picks below...

I have limited myself by choosing not to peruse the necklaces, tights, socks, bags, etc. In other words, I could shop 'til I drop in London.

Thoughts, dear fellow bloggers? Should I buy the shoes from Aldo so I have a nice pair for castings, or should I wait and spend my moulah in London town. I leave in 4 days! Let me know what you guys think, your opinions mean a lot to me! :)

Love,
K.xx

Back to the Future

First thing my mom says when I bring home these pants: "I had a pair just like that, that I donated to the Salvation Army!"
As always... THANKS MOM!
Anyways, I hope you guys like my new purchases. I sure had fun shooting these photos yesterday, and I have another 'nautical' look I'll put up soon.
I've been trying the photo that inspired me to purchase these pants but I looked all over style.com and can't find the photo yet... but I will continue my search! I saw another photo of the same girl in a magazine yesterday... this girl has an amazing, very inspirational sense of style that I will definitely be following. I need to figure out who she is exactly.
What else is new...? Think my boyfriend and I are headed to Vermont to a friend's place for a few days. Also, my interview for today was cancelled (boo!) and moved to Tuesday. I was looking forward to the interview so I'm not best pleased.
But oh well...

Lots of love,
K.xx

Escaping my Problems

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted too much in the past week... my life has been crazy hectic due to a multitude of factors. I managed to mess up one of my submissions for my temporary working visa in London. As a result I'm going to be delayed in leaving for a month and a half, which destroys many of my summer plans. Frustrating! So now I have to get a regular job in the meantime, which I will probably have to skip out on last minute when my visa decides to go through.
So as if that isn't frustrating enough I also managed to get into a car accident this week. It wasn't my fault at all... a little old lady ran a red light and crashed into the side of my Crown Vic. Still a nuisance though as I have a big dent in the side of my car and need to handle all of that insurance jazz. FUN.
Anyways, I didn't mean for this post to turn into one big sob story but I did need to vent just a little bit so thank you all for hearing me out!
These photos were taken at my cottage by my boyfriend, I escaped up there yesterday and today for a mental health vacation! We did two other looks that I'll be posting over the next few days.... I hope you like!

With love,
K xx

PS. It's been very cold here the past week --- 10 degrees Celcius during the day and below freezing at night, so YES the fur vest is justified darlings :)
PPS. Thank you so, so much Sunaina at Fashionaina for the Sunshine Award you gave me!! I will definitely be passing the award along within the next week!

Finders Keepers

So my mother and I went 'thrifting' yesterday... and did we ever have fantastic luck! (Note: I would have said that we went vintage shopping but I don't know if Value Village is cool/old enough to qualify as vintage!)
Here are some of my finds:

What do you guys think.. is the Gucci wallet real????? It's made of a really nice quality leather and has none of the obvious faux-Gucci emblems. Still I don't see how anyone could possibly chuck out a Gucci wallet?!

This is my old wallet from Invito in Amsterdam that I will be putting to rest for a few months. I'm in love with this one and will definitely whip it out again in a few months when I'm sick of the Gucci(?) one.

This purse I actually bought on sale at a store next to Value Village. Kind of has a thrifty vibe too though. I'd been eyeing this one for awhile and when it was marked down from $70 to $20 I grabbed it in an instant. The photo doesn't really do it justice.

So here is my first non-accessory purchase. The shorts were maybe $5 and were originally Esprit. They fit me like a glove and would look super cute belted. Please excuse, once again, the awful photos of yours truly. I'm just taking a short catnap is all. One of these days I will try to be ambitious and actually take some nice photos. ONE DAY SOON. That's a promise as now that I've started posting some of my own personal style I have grown rather addicted to the practice.

One of the necklaces I bought.

This one was originally from H&M and as I am addicted to lace I picked it up in a second.

This last shirt is from Banana Republic orginally and is very bohemian and fun. The old lady earrings in the second photo I also picked up yesterday. I just hope that they weren't donated by a dead person's relatives because that is always a little creepy. But if I can snag more cute stuff like this in the future I think I'll take the risk of wearing a dead person's handoffs anyday.

Let me know what you guys think of my finds! And if you've found anything fantastic whilst thrifting recently please share! I'd love to see some of your finds too :)
With Love,
K.xx

Purple Rain

Daria Werbowy, Vogue Paris, May 2010.
By: Ben Hassett, Styled by: Julia von Boehm.
source: fashiongonerogue

Kudos are reserved once again for the fabulous Canadian supermodel that is Daria. I've loved Daria since she first hit it big a few years ago. She has such an amazing, unique look. She's also incredibly diverse and always has an impressive array of looks on display in every shoot. On the street Daria always looks so glamorous, and chic in an effortless sort of way.

One thing I've noticed about her is she seems drawn to nudey shoots. There was a nude one of her in this editorial as well but as I don't know blogspots tolerability for nudity so I opted to refrain from posting it. Check out fashiongonerogue if interested haha.

I love the makeup and styling though... exquisite. Just a very, very inspring beauty shoot for me overall.

Style Crush: Emma Watson

The past year or two this girl has absolutely exploded in terms of style. My style crush with her began in the summer when she did that Teen Vogue editorial, and since then she can do no wrong in my eyes. She is fabulous, gorgeous, and apparently humble as instead of choosing to pursue her acting she has opted to go to school as an "unknown" (yeah, right) student in the US.

For those of you who also admire Miss. Watson's mix of eclectic yet lady-like attire I have comprised a list of looks that are similar to ones that she has been spotted wearing. This is for those of you that adore Emma's sophisticated style but who may not share her budget (and let's face it who shares the budget of the best-grossing actress of the decade?!). Anyways, let me know what you guys think of my finds. Like 'em, hate 'em? Let me know :)
