New Outfit

So no luck finding a bag. I have the worst luck with purse shopping. However, I did snag a bunch of other great finds. Here is one outfit that I made from my purchases:

Shirt, jacket, pants: Urban Outfitters
Belt: American Eagle
Necklace: thrifted
Bracelet: Forever 21
Shoes: Dolce Vita

I will post a the rest of my buys and outfits over the next few days. If you liked this one then please check back for some other similar seasonal inspired looks.

With love,
K.xx

Autumn Cravings

My girlfriend, Becky, and I had a conversation the other day about what we want to purchase on our next shopping trip. Becky is adament that her nect purchase be a pair of mint green denims. I, however, cannot get behind that decision at all. For me as soon as the days become shorter, and the evenings cool, I begin to crave good ol'-fashioned comfort clothes: autumnal hues, luxurious cable knits, and anything that looks "scholarly," are all on my radar.

Here are a few of my recent picks from fashiolista:

Let me know what you're craving for fall!

And if you're currently on fashiolista, seek me out: fashionspiration. I have several other great lists that I just composed too, like girly clothes, work clothes, etc., that you may find inspirational.

Until next time,

Don't Cry Wolf...

Unless you know it's the real. And the new London-based brand Red By Wolves is definitely the real deal. Founded in 2007 this company boasts decent prices ($150 upwards), and amazing designs. Here are some of my current faves:

Alexa Wedges

Marika Brogues

Serena Heels

The Mirja Unisex Brogues

Sell My Soul

Dear readers,
I have a confession to make: I would sell my soul for shoes.

I need new summer shoes... in case you guys haven't noticed I've been focusing on the same brown Dolce Vita pair in many posts. I just don't have many nice summer shoes... Boots? I got plenty! But summer shoes I am sorely lacking.

Today, whilst browsing about Aldo, I fell in love with two styles, featured below:

However, I'm wondering whether I should just save my money (not to mention avoid adding excess weight to my luggage) by simply waiting to indulge in some London shopping. For example here some of my new Topshop picks below...

I have limited myself by choosing not to peruse the necklaces, tights, socks, bags, etc. In other words, I could shop 'til I drop in London.

Thoughts, dear fellow bloggers? Should I buy the shoes from Aldo so I have a nice pair for castings, or should I wait and spend my moulah in London town. I leave in 4 days! Let me know what you guys think, your opinions mean a lot to me! :)

Love,
K.xx

Back to the Future

First thing my mom says when I bring home these pants: "I had a pair just like that, that I donated to the Salvation Army!"
As always... THANKS MOM!
Anyways, I hope you guys like my new purchases. I sure had fun shooting these photos yesterday, and I have another 'nautical' look I'll put up soon.
I've been trying the photo that inspired me to purchase these pants but I looked all over style.com and can't find the photo yet... but I will continue my search! I saw another photo of the same girl in a magazine yesterday... this girl has an amazing, very inspirational sense of style that I will definitely be following. I need to figure out who she is exactly.
What else is new...? Think my boyfriend and I are headed to Vermont to a friend's place for a few days. Also, my interview for today was cancelled (boo!) and moved to Tuesday. I was looking forward to the interview so I'm not best pleased.
But oh well...

Lots of love,
K.xx

Speedy Update

Hi lovelies!

First off.... thank you all so, so much for your wonderful comments. They mean the world to me! I will answer each and every one of them either tomorrow or Friday.
I have been up at my cottage (again) enjoying the beautiful weather. I have no net connection up there (which is for the best, we all need an escape from technology now and then)!

So I wanted to take lots of lovely photos of some of my new buys but I managed to forget my camera charger and the sucker was dead - OOPS. So I'll definitely be taking thoses photos tomorrow and have the posts up tomorrow night or Fri.

Also, I got an interview at my favourite boutique for Friday... wish me luck! And let me know if you have any suggestions for interview attire.

With love,
K.xx

PS. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE LOVE AND POSTS AND FOLLOWING :)
PPS. The photos up top were from the last of the three looks of my previous cottage trip. I didn't really like any of the shots from this outfit except for these two (which isn't saying much haha), but it's a little something. This is more of a glamourous outfit I'd possibly don to a nice upscale eatery, or lounge.

Top: Value Village (was H&M). Skirt: Arizia (so versatile!). Cardi: Zara (the same one so many of you have!). Necklace, Earrings, Watch: thrifted. Shoes: Nine West. Clutch: gifted from brother.

Sunshine in a Bag

I have to say guys my mood is absolutely THROUGH THE ROOF at the moment! Primarily because I just ran a 10k group run for the first time and managed to keep up with the leader the entire time!
I would probably be in a slightly better mood though if I managed to sleep last night but sleep is for the weak after all, right???
Another reason I'm very happy right now is I finally have found a pair of beige pleated peg legs!!!! I've been stalking out a pair ever since those pictures by Tommy Ton on style.com of that girl.... Anyways, I'll have to find that picture and post it for you all because it's amazing. I also went way over budget and bought a really cute summery turquoise corset-style top by wilfred, as I don't have much summer attire. Anyways, I will post a pic soon of these pieces for you guys to check out :)
I'm also in a great mood because the weather is great and I have all week to horseback ride, go to the cottage, run and generally enjoy life. Also, I applied at my favourite boutique Victoire and have my fingers crossed that I will be contacted about that this week.

So the above look was look number 2/3 taken at my cottage during my mental health vacay with the bf. This is a fairly casual look that I'd wear for shopping and coffee with a girlfriend, but the top can be dressed up more for a night on the town as well.

Sorry for the long post but I'm hyped up on a lack of sleep and excess of caffeine!
With love,
K.xx

Escaping my Problems

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted too much in the past week... my life has been crazy hectic due to a multitude of factors. I managed to mess up one of my submissions for my temporary working visa in London. As a result I'm going to be delayed in leaving for a month and a half, which destroys many of my summer plans. Frustrating! So now I have to get a regular job in the meantime, which I will probably have to skip out on last minute when my visa decides to go through.
So as if that isn't frustrating enough I also managed to get into a car accident this week. It wasn't my fault at all... a little old lady ran a red light and crashed into the side of my Crown Vic. Still a nuisance though as I have a big dent in the side of my car and need to handle all of that insurance jazz. FUN.
Anyways, I didn't mean for this post to turn into one big sob story but I did need to vent just a little bit so thank you all for hearing me out!
These photos were taken at my cottage by my boyfriend, I escaped up there yesterday and today for a mental health vacation! We did two other looks that I'll be posting over the next few days.... I hope you like!

With love,
K xx

PS. It's been very cold here the past week --- 10 degrees Celcius during the day and below freezing at night, so YES the fur vest is justified darlings :)
PPS. Thank you so, so much Sunaina at Fashionaina for the Sunshine Award you gave me!! I will definitely be passing the award along within the next week!

Time Travelling

Time travelling...
Why? Firstly in terms of the decor, and also in terms of wearing winter clothes, once again, in 'spring/summer' season. I know, awful! But the weather honestly hasn't warmed up here yet. It was a dismal, overcast day. Thus, not yet time to crack out the spring attire. So don't call me a humbug too quickly please!
Willow decided she wanted to jump in on the shoot too to say hi :)

London Calling

So I'm excited to head to London for a multitude of reasons... doing the touristy thing in a beautiful city, experiencing a new culture, challenging my limits, and all of those other noble aspirations. But I gotta say... Topshop is right up there as well! I can't wait to get my hands on some of these puppies:

I should be leaving between the 10th and 15th. The reason I haven't been posting much is partly because I'm trying to get everything organized... need to actually book my ticket today haha. But anyways, let me know what you think about the above pieces. And you British readers... what other terrific shopping locales are there in London besides for High Street? Fill a girl in!
With love,
K xx

Style Crush: Emma Watson

The past year or two this girl has absolutely exploded in terms of style. My style crush with her began in the summer when she did that Teen Vogue editorial, and since then she can do no wrong in my eyes. She is fabulous, gorgeous, and apparently humble as instead of choosing to pursue her acting she has opted to go to school as an "unknown" (yeah, right) student in the US.

For those of you who also admire Miss. Watson's mix of eclectic yet lady-like attire I have comprised a list of looks that are similar to ones that she has been spotted wearing. This is for those of you that adore Emma's sophisticated style but who may not share her budget (and let's face it who shares the budget of the best-grossing actress of the decade?!). Anyways, let me know what you guys think of my finds. Like 'em, hate 'em? Let me know :)

My Life this Minute

So a few things inspiring me today....

First off my adorable calico kitty Willow. Have you ever seen anything this sweet?! I rescued her from my barn back in January and it was the best move I've ever made... love of my life = this cat.

Next off there is of course my lovely boyfriend, friends and family... and of course jewelry. All featured on my little bristol board. Wake up looking at this every morning, which starts my day off justtttt right. Speaking of jewelry... here's my favourite statement piece-de-resistance... a necklace I purchased a few months back from an H&M in Montreal.

As an English lit student I'd have to say I'm pretty inspired by, well, literature! I just started reading 'Vanity Fair' a few days ago and I have to say it is amazing! Lots of fashion inspiration within those pages too. Definitely a read I recommend.

Last, but certainly not least, are my new shoes. They are the only thing that consoles me about putting away some of my winter faves for a few months. These shoes were LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.... and I don't think I'll ever be taking them off. Ever. To bed, to work, to school, bury me with them etc, etc. I bought them at a fabulous boutique called Victoire (located on Dalhousie St. in Ottawa, Canada for all of you Canadian bloggers).

Anyways, I hope this post helps to shed a little light on MY LIFE since most of my previous posts have focused on things that I find inspiring in the fashion world, as opposed to things that are inspiring in my life.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone,
K. xx

PS. If you are in need of a laugh you need to check out the Ding Dong Song on Youtube, by Gunther and the Sunshine Girls. I cannot stop watching this one. Will most definitely brighten your day!
