The Antics of a Shopaholic in London

This is a very, very dangerous town for a girl like me. The shopping here is by far the best I've ever experienced. So without further ado here are my purchases of the past three weeks:

Today's Outfit

New shirt - Bershka

New Blazer - H&M

New Shoes - Bershka

New shoes & socks - River Island

Purchases from here onwards are from Primark.
I'm planning on replacing the buttons on these shorts.

Lace flats

Outfits for my nieces

Hope you guys like some of new finds. I'm so sorry that I haven't been the most avid blogger since my journey over here - but life has been hectic! I will reform!

Lots of love,
K.xx

Style Crush: Brit Style!

Hi lovely bloggers!
So I just wanted to do a little homage to how much I am enchanted with the style here in the UK.... And I thought French girls were supposed to be the stylish ones! Now don't get me wrong - french girls are stylish too, but in a totally different way. French girls are stylish in a more traditional, pulled-together and tailored way. Brits are stylish in a eclectic and unique way that I absolutely adore! And no wonder - who wouldn't be chic growing up in a city with such a fabulous array of stores??? I am starting to take some photos of some of the unique little boutiques and shops I've stumbled upon and will share them all with you soon.

Until then... the top photo is of a shirt I picked up today at Pop Boutique near Covent Gardens - a fabulous vintage store which I will definitely be returning to! The lower photo is simply a tourist photo, but I liked the outfit. It's a little bit harder to do personal style posts over here without my boyfriend to act as photographer!

Anyways, the bottom three are photos taken from the streethearts, the style scout, and styleclicker. These photos demonstrate how each Londoner seems to pull of their own slightly unique spin on the current trends, as well as classics. I love the London look!

Anyways, hope you guys like these photos & thanks, as always, for all your sweet comments!

Love,
K.xx

Died and Gone to Heaven

Died and Gone to Heaven.... that's how I felt when I walked into Topshop for the first time today. I went after my castings to poke my head in and ended up spending more than two hours in there. That place is huuuuuuuge! I went to the one on Oxford Street... it has an entire floor devoted to jewelry, bags and accessories, another for shoes, 2 for clothes and one for men. Amazing! Above are the two items I purchased today. The pants are green harem pants that are super comfy and slimming. I'll have to post a pic wearing the pants as that photo does them no justice.

Sorry I haven't been answering comments for a few days... what with leaving, flying and now getting settled, things have been rather hectic. Also, my laptop has been misbehaving - shutting down, freezing or overheating every twenty minutes or so :( I should have bought a new one before flying over. Anyways, I will try to reply to each and every comment tonight as they all mean so much to me.

So far I'm loving London - gorgeous city! It reminds me of Paris but with more diverse architecture and much, much more greenery. I can't wait to spend this upcoming weekend relaxing in Hyde Park. Once I get through another two very busy days of castings.

Anyways, thank you all so much for your lovely comments and now that I'm settled I will try to be a better blogger and follower!

With love,
K.xx

Fashion is in the Sky

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
-Coco Chanel
"I like being a woman, even in a man's world. After all, men can't wear dresses, but we can wear the pants."
-Whitney Houston
"I love being able to wear dresses and clothes that make me feel feminine and beautiful, and I love the fact that I don't have to all the time[.]"
-Portia de Rossi

Hello Readers!
So I figured that I should post up my last two outfits in case I run out of time before I leave. Hope you guys like. Ever since the weather has warmed up I've been in the mood for the most flirty , and girly dresses in my closet. Can you tell? It's funny because simply slipping into a flirty dress, like one of the above, simply makes me feel more feminine. Just like an edgy outfit makes me feel more avant-garde. I think this is why we, bloggers, are so amazed, inspired and obsessed with fashion. It can make you into whoever you want to be, for however long you choose to don a particular garb. It can enhance your mood, uplift your spirits. Fashion is a friend that will always be there to cheer you up - and will never ditch you for her new boyfriend. And this is why I will always love fashion.

A fun little quiz taken from The Lovelylist. Thanks Krystal!
Reading: "Sellevision" by Anthony Burroughs and "Emma" by Jane Austen. The first is hilarious, and the latter is a must-read (as are all of Austen's collections as they are written in a different era but are still so strikingly poignant).
Listening to: Angus & Julia Stone, Free Energy, Wolf Parade
Watching: nothing! I'm not a big TV person... when I watch TV I have to watch episodes chronologically. I get into phases where I become obsessed with a show online and will watch all the episodes. I love Heartland, Being Erica, and the City at the moment.
Dreading: The plane ride on Monday! It's not that I'm afraid of heights or plane crashes. Rather I'm a germaphobe and hate how the germy air is recirculated for 7 hours - yuck! Also, I hate the icky smell that comes from the frozen, disgusting food they serve. It permeates everything you wear and I swear that I smell that wretched scent for days afterwards! Also, not looking forward to jet lag- never fun.
Excited About: England (of course). Returning to work at the barn for a week, and Victoire for the rest of summer. How fun! Also looking forward to picking my classes for next year.
Craving: Starbucks nonfat latte, Juice Monkey lebanese fruit parfait (yum - and healthy!)
Wanting: New shoes! (See last post!) Either some nice flat ones that I can walk around in or a higher pair for castings. Or both. Ideally :)
Hoping: That magically my suitcase will be less than 50lbs and that I won't have to pay excess baggage fees.... Hey, a girl can dream right!?

Lots of love,
K.xx

Outfit 2: Dress: Winners (several years ago and only wore it for the first time this year!). Belt: Target (wish we had one in Canada!). Shoes: Aldo.

Ahoy, maties!

Hello all!

I have fabulous, terrific, sublime news for you all.... Not that any of you really care too much, but I feel I really do need to shout this from every rooftop I can - I'm that ecstatic.

Basically, my life has come together. My visa came through for London and I'm off on an adventure to the UK as of Monday! Furthermore, I ended up getting my dream job at Victoire boutique... and the owners are nice enough to wait for my return and let me work there when I'm back from London mid-Julyish. Basically I couldn't be any happier unless I won the lottery. And it would have to be a pretty big win.

Moving on to my outfit....
I took this photo awhile back when I took the photo with the beige peg-leg trousers. I'm really into stripes this year, and this nautical look is a classic for a lovely summer day. I'd like to get a well-structured, sleeveless, striped top so that I can replicate this look on even warmer days.

Lastly, I wanted to thank all of my favourite bloggers out there for all of the sweet, sweet comments you are always leaving on my blog. You guys know who you are - and you are the reason that I post! Thank you so, so much.

With lots & lots of love,
K. xx

Summer Staples

Here are one of my summer staple combinations: oversize blouses and denim cut-offs. So comfy and perfect for the weather in Canada! Well, except for at the moment. Currently we are experiencing a record breaking heat wave... the weather (with the humidity) has reached above 40 degrees Celcius the past two days! As such this outfit staple has been much, much too hot. But still I thought I would post a little feature highlighting one of my favourite casual summer day choices.

Just to let you guys know due to the weather I have been pretty much living at my cottage sans wifi. As a result I have not been able to respond to many of your comments as quickly as I would like to. They are coming! If you write to me, I will always return the favour.

Also, I want to let you guys know that I have A TON of outfit posts coming up. They are already taken and loaded on to my computer and just bidding their time to be released. Also, I hope to post up some new summer inspirational photos I have saved on my computer so check back soon lovelies... and for those of you commenting, thank you :) Always appreciated!

Love always,
K.xx
