New Outfit

So no luck finding a bag. I have the worst luck with purse shopping. However, I did snag a bunch of other great finds. Here is one outfit that I made from my purchases:

Shirt, jacket, pants: Urban Outfitters
Belt: American Eagle
Necklace: thrifted
Bracelet: Forever 21
Shoes: Dolce Vita

I will post a the rest of my buys and outfits over the next few days. If you liked this one then please check back for some other similar seasonal inspired looks.

Back-to-School Shopping

There's something really amazing and special about the feeling of fall approaching. It is a bitter-sweet feeling. The long, warm days of summer, which are chock-full of families, friends and outdoorsy activities, are drawing to a close. However, the sweetness comes from the excitement of a new year. To me, as a life-long student to date, fall is more of a "new year" than January is. It's a time of reflection, goal settings and new beginnings. And what better way to mark a new beginning than by heading out to pick out a few new pieces to wear? Clothing does have that magical ability to reinvent after all. To make us feel like a whole different, and better, version of who we previously were. Cozy, comforting items that feel good to wear, and that look even better are what is currently on my fall shopping radar (see post teo below for my ideas of what I am craving).

Additionally, I have had the same old bag for two and a half years now. I received it as a gift from my mister, and it is a beautiful bag, but has unfortunately seen better days. It's time to move on. Im looking for something a little more practical for my studious lifestyle, that can hold a bit more. Either a leather satchel or backpack in buttery brown. Something like the below would really be ideal:

We will see what I'm able to find! I will be sure to share my purchases and I'd love to see what you're adding to your wardrobe for this fall too.

Wish me luck,
K.xx

Photo Inspiration of the Day

One of my favourite blogs to follow is Carolina Engman's fashionsquad. She is so creative and has so many great pieces that she pairs so unexpectedly for a great final result. Here is one of her outfits that is currently inspiring me:

That bag is absolutely to die for! If you're not an avid fashionsquad visit, I suggest adding the site to your regular list of blogs. Carolina is a true fashion inspiration!

Autumn Cravings

My girlfriend, Becky, and I had a conversation the other day about what we want to purchase on our next shopping trip. Becky is adament that her nect purchase be a pair of mint green denims. I, however, cannot get behind that decision at all. For me as soon as the days become shorter, and the evenings cool, I begin to crave good ol'-fashioned comfort clothes: autumnal hues, luxurious cable knits, and anything that looks "scholarly," are all on my radar.

Here are a few of my recent picks from fashiolista:

Let me know what you're craving for fall!

And if you're currently on fashiolista, seek me out: fashionspiration. I have several other great lists that I just composed too, like girly clothes, work clothes, etc., that you may find inspirational.

Until next time,

Sheers and Pastels

Good evening, lovely bloggers!

It has certainly been a longgg time since my last post - nearly two years exactly - but I am full of muse and once again ready to share the things that inspire me in my everyday life. I hope if you're reading this that you will feel like joining me in sharing some of the fantasic pieces of clothing, art and literature that this world has to offer.

For any of you who were following me two years ago, you may wonder what has changed in the past two years. I have stopped modeling and have focused a lot more seriously on the study of English literature. I am really passionate about my studies and am looking forward to pursuing some graduate work next year - wish me luck! I am also back into equestrian sports and spend a lot of time in breeches or jodhpurs and a polo tee. You will probably see this equestrian influence on my style too, as I find there is something really classical and sophisticated about equestrian attire. Lastly, I have also purchased an iPad recently and am completely hooked on it. You can expect a lot more posts just because I am always tied to my iPad and fashion blogs and media sites which results in a lot more exposure time in which to be inspired.

Without further ado, here are the trends that have been inspiring this summer, in 2012:

Hope you enjoy these girly looks as much as I do! Be prepared to see some of my takes on these styles in the next little while.

Until then, I'd love to see your takes on these looks and others.. Let me know what you can't seem to take off these days!

New Obsession - Jennifer Behr Lookbook

I adore these new looks by Jennifer Behr... her hairbands are simply amazing. These hairbands could help make a dressy look really spectacular, or they could help add some pizazz to more casual attire.

I love the turban style hairband in the third photo - amazing.

Let me know what you think!

Don't Cry Wolf...

Unless you know it's the real. And the new London-based brand Red By Wolves is definitely the real deal. Founded in 2007 this company boasts decent prices ($150 upwards), and amazing designs. Here are some of my current faves:

Alexa Wedges

Marika Brogues

Serena Heels

The Mirja Unisex Brogues

Return to Native Soil

Sources: tfs, fashiongonerogue, fashionsquad

Back in Canada! How does it feel? Fabulous! I'll miss my quirky roommate, the indian cuisine, and the energetic vibe that resonates throughout London. But overall I'm just happy to be back with the people I love.

Unfortunately my return to Canada is a little bitter-sweet, as my dream job at Victoire Boutique has been given away in my absence. They really needed someone and couldn't afford to wait. They still offered me a position when their next opening arose - but this may not be until October/November. At which time I'm very busy with school. In any case, we'll see - you have to live life day by day!

On the bright side more time for blogging! I'm headed up to my cottage tonight (after picking up my new car as my boyfriend crashed my old one while I was away). I will bring up some outfits with me and have some new personal style posts up (finally!) for you guys in the next few days. I'm excited to re-embrace the blogging community with open arms!

I hope you guys like my current inspiration photos. I love the new Marc Jacobs campaign - kind of represents how I feel at the moment in a bizarre way. I'm also inspired by the other photos of some of my favourite models, and just some fabulous street style in the instance of Daisy Lowe (white dress), and the girl outfitted in vintage from Berlin. Let me know if you guys find these photos equally inspiring!

Lots of love,

The more we get together, the happier we'll be...

...Because your friends are my friends, and my friends are your friends

I adore these super sweet friendship bracelets from Links of London. I worked for the brand yesterday and wore some of their fabulous couture pieces. These bracelets really stood out for me... like friends the more you have, the better they are! They look fabulous with a whole armload in contrasting shades.

The new ones they have come out with are even more fabulous. Cat Deeley worked with the brand to pick out some of the new colours. They also have a fabulous new style with little silver skulls all linked together with string. However, since these styles were just premiered yesterday I don't have any photos of them. I would have taken some snaps yesterday if it wasn't considered unprofessional to walk around acting like a model and photographer at the same time!

The bracelets remind me of coming back from summer break as a kid. This was always my favourite time of year... The kids in my city would always come back with loads of friendship bracelets from camps and fabulous summers spent in the sun having fun. These bracelets make me nostalgic and happy at the same time! Definitely a piece to consider investing in!

Lots of love,
K.xx

Miu Miu Perfection

Miu Miu's new fall campaign was released this week starring Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerod, Ginta Lapina and Daphne Groenveld. The campaign is beautifully shot, as are all the clothing. Though some of the pieces strike me as a little bit summery for autumn. Nonetheless a beautiful shoot - again running with the doll-like muse in terms of model. But does the new campaign compare with the spring/summer one featured below? I think that the much hyped spring/summer campaign will be hard for the company to top.

Perfection:

Hello all,
Just wanted to write a quick personal message as well to let all of you know that I will be home from the UK in 2 weeks. Once I'm back home I'll have more time for blogging, and more energy for creativity. Look forward to a lot more activity from Obsessed Fashion in the coming months :)

Lots of love,

Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury Festival = a fashionista's dream come true. Being here in the UK this year I can't help to be even more enthralled than usual with the festival as it's happening in the vicinity. My friend did offer me tickets but unfortunately it was fairly last minute and would have been difficult to pull together. Still, how amazing would it have been to have been present at this festival? I could have snapped some of my own street style photos to show you all. Oh well, at least perusing style.com's archive of fashion photos allows me to live the experience second hand. Maybe next year!

Lots of love,
K.xx

The Antics of a Shopaholic in London

This is a very, very dangerous town for a girl like me. The shopping here is by far the best I've ever experienced. So without further ado here are my purchases of the past three weeks:

Today's Outfit

New shirt - Bershka

New Blazer - H&M

New Shoes - Bershka

New shoes & socks - River Island

Purchases from here onwards are from Primark.
I'm planning on replacing the buttons on these shorts.

Lace flats

Outfits for my nieces

Hope you guys like some of new finds. I'm so sorry that I haven't been the most avid blogger since my journey over here - but life has been hectic! I will reform!

Lots of love,
K.xx
